Red Rock Canyon National Park?

I cant explain how excited I STILL am about these photographs!!!
Sometimes you go places and you hope to get some really cool shots of yourself visiting these spots so you can keep those memories and maybe even one day show your kids how
adventurous you were when you were a teen, and hopefully inspire them to also
go out and enjoy/explore nature.....

(well at least those are my thoughts) I'm always the type that enjoys
looking at old photographs, I know I was excited to see some of my mothers vintage photographs of her young adult life. Just to see how she dressed or the places shes been!
These will be my photos and they come with a great story, strong memorable trips like these
are what I look forward to sharing with my family once im old n wrinkly.

I can honestly say 2013 was filled with adventures I never thought I'd be a part of but Im most certainly thankful for the time, resources in my life that all made these trips possible.

Mountains Galore

This was another spot we stopped at, just to take in the beauty of the mountains, snow and sky as far as the eye can see. The sound of silence can be so serene, it was so peaceful......
Sometimes you just need to get away from the city to feel grounded.
I really loved our drive back home.

Adventures on the Road

On our way back from mammoth, we stopped at some random spots just to
explore (One of my favorite things to do).
There were so many abandoned buildings here and there and pretty much everywhere!
We walked into an abandoned house and I was able to see how time
took its toll on the interior. Very interesting and definitely neat.
There was an old vintage run down car, broken windows, and rusty old fridges
just out in the middle of nowhere!!
These shots turned out so great!
And to think! they were all taken with my Galaxy S2 !!!!!

so I went to mammoth where I got to snowboard for the VERY FIRST TIME EVER!
There were so many things I loved about this trip and memories I will hold dear for
a very long time. ok ok...let be honest....
there were things I did NOT like about my trip. Let us begin.....
So my friend says pack up we're going somewhere...and indeed we hit the road.
He says dont look in the backseat(mystery under the sheets) this is going to be a surprise!
so we're driving , we're driving....and we're driving some MORE and all these
sights around me are nothing short of amazing and just gorgeous.
Beautiful blue skies, toasty golden brown mountains, luscious green patches of grass here n there, and WHAT??? .....SNOW!!!!!??!!
yes, the surprise was somewhat outta the bag, (that and I couldnt wait any longer, I kept asking where are we going?? where are we going!!!)
So he says....."Snowboarding up in MAMMOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
We stayed at a super fancy resort as seen on some of these photos, and well I guess the one thing I didnt enjoy was falling on my butt so many times and even crying over it,
also I fell on my face and got the scare of my life thinking I had lost my front teeth
(thank the lord I didnt...whew!!!!)
I got a little cut on my upper cheek near my eye but all in all I survived haha!
And I did pretty well on the steep hill. My snowboarding skills are officially,
better than a beginner (or so I tell myself that).

You Melt My Heart

I want to take this moment to recommend this truly inspiring music
(thank you a million times Adam for the suggestion)
that I guarantee will change your life if you're aching for some powerful lyrics,
spoken word motivational music.
I cant find the words to explain how beautiful this song is and how much i've come to love it.
After listening to it just once I was intrigued, the type of song that lures you in
makes you want to know what the lyrics are saying.
The type of song that you can relate to, you understand it,
it sparks something within you, and even leaves traces of hope joy love and happiness in your heart.
You feel spirited, you feel jaunty, you feel alive.
So check out these brilliant lyrics, the music very much reminds me of mewithoutyou
but this is goodness on a whole nother level.

"We’re all born to broken people on their most honest day of living
and since that first breath... We’ll need grace that we’ve never given
I've been haunted by standard red devils and white ghosts
and it's not only when these eyes are closed
these lies are ropes that I tie down in my stomach,
but they hold this ship together tossed like leaves in this weather
and my dreams are sails that I point towards my true north,
stretched thin over my rib bones, and pray that it gets better
but it won’t won’t, at least I don’t believe it will...
so I've built a wooden heart inside this iron ship,
to sail these blood red seas and find your coasts.
don’t let these waves wash away your hopes
this war-ship is sinking, and I still believe in anchors
pulling fist fulls of rotten wood from my heart, I still believe in saviors
but I know that we are all made out of shipwrecks, every single board
washed and bound like crooked teeth on these rocky shores
so come on and let’s wash each other with tears of joy and tears of grief
and fold our lives like crashing waves and run up on this beach
come on and sew us together, tattered rags stained forever
we only have what we remember

I am the barely living son of a woman and man who barely made it
but we’re making it taped together on borrowed crutches and new starts
we all have the same holes in our hearts...
everything falls apart at the exact same time
that it all comes together perfectly for the next step
but my fear is this prison... that I keep locked below the main deck
I keep a key under my pillow, it’s quiet and it’s hidden
and my hopes are weapons that I’m still learning how to use right
but they’re heavy and I’m awkward...always running out of fight
so I’ve carved a wooden heart, put it in this sinking ship
hoping it would help me float for just a few more weeks
because I am made out of shipwrecks, every twisted beam
lost and found like you and me scattered out on the sea
so come on let’s wash each other with tears of joy and tears of grief
and fold our lives like crashing waves and run up on this beach
come on and sew us together, just some tattered rags stained forever
we only have what we remember

My throat it still tastes like house fire and salt water
I wear this tide like loose skin, rock me to sea
if we hold on tight we’ll hold each other together
and not just be some fools rushing to die in our sleep
all these machines will rust I promise, but we'll still be electric
shocking each other back to life
Your hand in mine, my fingers in your veins connected
our bones grown together inside
our hands entwined, your fingers in my veins braided
our spines grown stronger in time
because are church is made out of shipwrecks
from every hull these rocks have claimed
but we pick ourselves up, and try and grow better through the change
so come on yall and let’s wash each other with tears of joy and tears of grief
and fold our lives like crashing waves and run up on this beach
come on and sew us together, were just tattered rags stained forever
we only have what we remember"

Matilija Dam Part 2

More photos to come....!!!!!!!!

Matilija Dam

Its late, i'm sleepy so i'll keep this brief....
I went for a hike with an old friend
and made some new friends along the way, it was so awesome!
I love love love meeting new people, holding long conversations, and learning about
anything and everything other people have to say. This outing was perfection!
(minus the billions of itty bitty bugs flying around out along the trail.)
Highlight of the day, among many things actually....
(mexican food on our way back was DEFINITELY one of em),
Arriving at the Matilija Dam, and staring at some GIANT scissors along the Dam wall,
and later hearing from a local that this is BANKSY'S ART WORK!!!!!!!!!!

More pics to come!

Into the Wilderness

"There is no place for me in this world. I don't belong out there, and I don't belong in here. So I'm going out into the Wilderness..... Probably, to die."

hahaha my all time favorite movie, next to Into the Wild, The Breakfast Club AND
(so if you havent watched any of those previously listed, what the heck are you waiting for!!?!)
So I've been thinking, I KEEP THINKING, " The glory of God is man fully alive".
Lately i've been inspired tremendously by many igers(wait for it!...)
who are deeply driven by their faith,
traveling the world, or simply exploring their towns in search of beauty.
Their photographs are so inspiring, make me excited for my future.
I want to travel so badly, I want to see the world, I want to see new faces,
new surroundings, lend a helping hand, give further purpose to my life.
So im dedicated, im driven, and ive decided to make this happen,
I want to look back on this and say this was the moment when things started,
where it all began...

I noticed i've slowly withdrawn from daily reading my bible as I used to, going to bible studies,
doing mission trips, helping random strangers in minimal yet huge ways.
I read somewhere, we cant desire for God to grant us certain things,
because it leaves no room for the unexpected. Im trying to change my mentality completely
based on my faith, and my identity.
I no longer want to desire what I don't have, but I want to be ecstatic for what I do have and
I want to further my walk with christ, I want to be a leading example of the joy
that comes with believing. I want to live thriving for the glory of God is...
man fully alive.

and I will never be the same again......

and spent HOURS wishing the swelling would go down so I wouldn't have to
miss the event AAAAAnd after icing it overnight with a frozen bag of peas,
most of the swelling went away!!!!!!!!!!?!?!

(it was still a little swollen as you can see but waaaay better than it was the day before,
i mean it was so bad I was gonna have to get it drained because there were fluids building up that
prevented me from flexing or bending it.)

Distinguished Gentlemans Ride 2013

This past Sunday thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, I took part in the
"Distinguished Gentlemans Ride" in Los Angeles!
I got to ride with Keil along with many many other motorcyclists
(all of which rode dapper status!)
in order to raise money for prostate cancer research.
The goal was to raise 250,000 and the funds are now are 264,041.
This was such a memorable event and I definitely felt great knowing I was partaking in something
so meaningful. There were so many sharp looking men at the event and I truly did appreciate
the mens fashion. Never have I seen such a large amount of men all looking as great as they did.
Im proud to say Keil was of the best looking men there! but of course
that might be a bit bias coming from the girlfriend huh?

Although I knew close to nothing about motorcycles,
I appreciate all things vintage, I love fashion, and of course
Im always up for a fundraiser event so this was such a blast for me and I enjoyed it to the max!
There are many more photographs of this even if you click on the following link,

Special thanks to Christian Jung for taking all these lovely photographs.
Feel free to check out his Instagram as well,
(just click on the link!)
